The final Harry Potter
For days people had been camping out on Trafalgar Square to witness the ‘red carpet’ scenes for the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows II, the final, very very last movie of the series.
As much as I’d wanted to be there, I would never camp out for three days in the pouring rain. Having said that, it must have been awesome and a worthy story telling to your grandkids ‘yes dear, grandma was there’.
Oh well, I watched the livestream and cried as much as I would’ve done at the spot, so the experience is somewhat the same.
I wouldn’t sit out there either. I have waited for the movies for four or five hours, but camping out? No, I’m not that dedicated. I have to say, though, it would have been cool and I’m sure the people who did it are glad they stuck it out through the nasty weather.
I can’t wait for Friday. This is the first of the Harry Potter movies I will attend alone. Laura is still confined to home after her foot surgery and Sarah is just going home from the hospital with new baby, Ryker. (He’s so cute!) So instead of going to the midnight show, I’ll wait till Friday morning and go then. It’ll give me a chance to watch Deathly Hallows, part 1 again on Thursday night so I’m really ready. (As if I’m not ready now. *grin*)
Not quite the same experience Antoinette . . . you were dry!
Great commitment! Just a little bit of rain…. when you’re there you would not notice one drop… then again I would not camp out for 5 days either.
