~Rose's Flying Dress~
This dress is made up of four pieces. A long blue velvet jacket with blue satin collar and cuffs, which is open to the sash at the waist. The cuffs are very interesting because they are made of three satin bands attached with buttons on the right cuff and the left cuff is plain. The jacket has beautiful floral embroidery at the waist. The edge of the jacket has two tassels.
A chemise of light cream satin is overlaid with antique light cream lace which is worn underneath the jacket.
The skirt is floor length blue satin with two tiers. The top tier it gathered on the right side almost up to knee length. The under skirt has matching floral embroidery at the bottom ending with a small ruffle.
Jack places his hand on the sash at Rose's waist. The sash is made of two vertical satin sashs. The sashs are embroidered with floral designs and attached to the blazer. On the back of the dress the ends of the sash are nearly down to the floor. They are attached below the back ruffle of the top skirt in a bow. Rose and Jack "fly" in the wind blowing off the Titanic's bow. Rose's hair and shawl blow in the breeze. Rose is wearing the butterfly comb in her hair.....They share their first kiss!

~Rose's Kimono~
Rose's kimono is made of black silk chiffon which wraps the body loosely. The sleeves of the kimono are nearly floor length. The gold paisley design was made to resemble a butterflies wing to keep in theme with the butterfly comb that Rose wore in her hair before she left it down for Jack to draw her. There are 6 full paisley designs on each side of the sleeves, while there is one half of a paisley on both the top and bottom of the sleeves. The paisley design is made of tiny barrel shaped gold beads.
The kimono is tied with a belt that is attached at the back of the neck of the gown and wrapped in an interesting way around Rose's waist. There are beaded tassels on each end of the belt that made a jingling sound when Rose twirled the belt when she came out of the bedroom. The kimono ends in a long train that puddles on the floor.
Jack nervously prepared his drawing equipment when Rose entered the room.
She shyly handed him a barber dime for his services..
Movie fact: James Cameron, the Director of the film, actually drew the portrait of Rose.
It's his hands that you see in the movie.
Costume fact: The beautiful butterfly comb was found at a local flea market in California.
It is an antique comb.
